In this article, we’re going to discuss other ways to increase the number of links to your web site. The operative word in the previous sentence is the word “article.”

This has become one of the most popular ways of getting incoming links to your site. Writing articles and submitting them to article directories is a very effective strategy.

The steps to doing this are very simple.

Depending on the niche that your site is targeting, you would research a topic related to that niche and write an article on that topic. The article should be about 500 words long to make sure that it will be accepted by most sites that accept article submission.

Go to a search engine and do a search for “article directories”. The top sites will appear first. This way, if any sites break into the scene, rather than my give you a list, you’ll know what the top sites are at all time. Any list here can be outdated in a month.

Choose any of the article submission sites at the top of the list, register with the site and submit your first article to them for approval. It may take up to a week to get your article approved.

Submit a new article each day to each site. This does require a lot of writing but over the course of a year, the links will add up.

Okay, this is where I need to do some explaining because you’re probably thinking “where are these links coming from?”

When you write an article for a directory, the key to the article is the resource box. This is where you put a little blurb about the author (you) and a link to your web site. As these articles start to circulate around the Internet, the number of links to your site increases.

This is not an overnight process. It does take time to build up. And since this article is really not a tutorial on article writing, you might want to check out this book on article writing and marketing. It will give you all the tools you need to write articles effectively and market them so that you get the most out of them.

These are great links to get because they are called 1 way links. These are links where the site that posts you article links to you but you don’t have to link back to them. These are the best links to have as it shows real authority to your site by the other site linking to you. And this isn’t hard to do. Just write quality articles and you’ll get plenty of 1 way links.
