Writing Articles(2)| Article #177 : ARTICLE WRITING – PART 10
Some people have so much trouble with this part and yet it is SO easy.
Why?
Because all you have to do in your conclusion is tell people what you just told them. Redundant? Maybe. But it’s perfectly acceptable and what all the good article writers do. Simply go back to your article that you’ve just written up to this point and touch on the high points. The key is to do it in a way that doesn’t sound like you’re simply recapping bullet points. That’s where practice comes in.
This is what I came up with for my conclusion.
There is no question that IBS is a subject that people would much rather not talk about. The problems of constipation, diarrhea, bloating, indigestion and a host of other symptoms make living with this disease a royal pain in the butt, no pun intended. But with proper diet, monitoring what foods set you off, healthy eating and taking vitamins, there is no reason that you have to suffer from IBS any longer.
Done…
Word count…72
I cut it short.
Why?
Let’s take our word count totals from each paragraph and see what we have.
Introduction – 142
Paragraph 2 – 111
Paragraph 3 – 128
Paragraph 4 – 117
Conclusion – 72
Total word count – 570
That’s why I cut the last paragraph short. I knew I was running over because of the excess words of previous paragraphs.
Word of advice. Try to run a little over 100 words with the first 4 paragraphs because the conclusion is the hardest one to write 100 words for without making it sound like you’re just padding your text. Don’t worry, we’ll cover that shortly.
Next we have to write our summary for article submission and a resource box.
Remember, you don’t want to start your summary with “This is an article about…” You’ll never make it past submission.
Here is the summary I came up with. Remember, 2 to 5 sentences is fine.
IBS is a terrible disease that causes great discomfort to people who suffer from it. Fortunately, those who suffer from IBS don’t have to continue suffering. There are natural treatments for IBS that can greatly relieve the symptoms.
Notice one very important thing. The main keyword phrase of our article is in the summary and in the title. This gives our article the best chance of being indexed high in the search engines.
Finally we have to write our bio or resource box.
Remember what I said? You want your resource box to grab your reader just like your title so they will go to your web page. That is your ultimate goal here, so don’t forget it.
Here is the resource box that I decided to go with.
If you’re suffering from IBS, there are more natural treatments at your web site at [web site address goes here] where you can pick up your free report on IBS and find 7 natural treatments that are certain to calm your IBS symptoms.
Done.
There you have it. We’ve written a whole article including our summary and resource box. Now, tell the truth, was that REALLY so hard? All it takes is a little practice and you’ll be writing articles like this in your sleep.
In our next article, we’re going to go over some advanced concepts that I am sure you are going to find very helpful.
See you then.
