Sales Copy| Article #196 : SALES PAGE SALES COPY – PART 1

I think the best way to start off a series of articles on sales page sales copy is to show you an example of a sales page that is one of the most popular sales pages today.

EWEN CHIA’S SECRET AFFILIATE WEAPON

This is what most marketers would call a flawless sales copy page. It has everything on it that you need to close the deal. Must be true, because Ewen is one of the top affiliates on the Internet. Personally, I find this particular page a bit overwhelming. But if you get passed all the glitz, you will see the fine points on this page that makes it almost impossible to pass up buying the product. I admit, I also made a purchase off this page. Of course I also was floored when I saw what I was getting for my $9.95. The guy must have more money than he knows what to do with because the price for this, even without the upgrades (yes, we’ll get into those too), is just ridiculously low. But that isn’t the point of this article so please forgive me for getting sidetracked.

If you look at the page, the first thing you see is the header. Looks kind of like a banner ad, but it’s not. It’s called a header. If you take a good look at this header, you’ll see that it is loaded with content and loaded with color. It’s almost impossible to really look at it quickly and absorb everything that’s on it. But you will notice that the main part of the header is pretty well centered, though not perfectly, and all the “extras” are wrapped around it.

So let’s really analyze this header and see what makes it tick.

If you look at the center of the header, which is divided in half from top to bottom, you will see Ewen Chia’s on the top portion of the header and Secret Affiliate Weapon on the bottom portion of the header. Notice the coloring of the letters. Except for the Secret which is yellow, the rest is all in white, though Affiliate Weapon does have some shadowing in it.  The title of this header really does stand out against the blue (on top) and red (on bottom) background.

Now, you might not notice it as first, but underneath the main header titles you will see the statement How To Create Avalanches Of Instant Cash Into Your Bank Account Automatically. Also notice how the lettering is kind of fancy.  It’s similar to the lettering that you’ll find at the top right hand corner that says The Easiest Money You Will Ever Make.

Finishing off the header we have a logo on the left hand side for Ewen Chia’s web site and a stack of money with what looks like a marksman’s site at the right. The graphics are more to just fill out the header so that there is no dead or empty space. You’ll notice that there is very little to this header that is just pure color.

This header does what it is supposed to do. It captures your attention. It’s colorful, professionally designed and sharp. You’d be hard pressed to find a better header anywhere, though there are many that are just as good. And that’s the point. The top sales pages all have headers that really capture the eye.

If you’re not a graphic artist and you don’t have the eye to do something like this now, you will. Just study enough of these. See what these people are doing and copy the style. In time, you will see that you can make a header that is more than capable of capturing your reader’s attention.
