Sales Copy| Article #198 : SALES PAGE SALES COPY – PART 3

In this installment of our series on sales page sales copy, we’re going to focus on the sub hook and greeting of Ewen Chia’s sales page for “Secret Affiliate Weapon.”

If you take a look at the web site we’ve been covering in this series…

EWEN CHIA’S SECRET AFFILIATE WEAPON

We’ve just finished going over the hook. But look what we have under the hook. It’s another hook, or sub hook.

Here is how it reads.

This Complete Affiliate Training Center Takes You From Beginner To Making Massive Money Online From Scratch - Without Need For Your Own Website, Product Or List! Read On For The Juicy Details...

You will notice that the sub hook is smaller in font size and also a different color. It doesn’t stand out as much. This is what is supposed to happen. You don’t want the sub hook to overpower the main hook or nobody will read the main hook. Also, notice that the sub hook has 31 words. It’s just a little longer than the main hook. It should be. A sub hook simply reinforces the main hook by giving additional information. In this case the sub hook tells you what the training center is going to do for you. Then, at the end, it asks you to read on for the juicy details. This gets you to keep reading.

It is pure sales copy genius and a very good reason why Ewen Chia is such a successful marketer. Is there a little hype in the above sub hook? Sure, but like I said, hype sells and this isn’t an ethics lesson, just a lesson on how to put together a killer sales page.

After the sub hook, Ewen starts off with the standard “Dear Friend” salutation. Some people put “From The Desk Of” and the current date. There are a number of ways to start your actual sales copy. Take a look at a number of sites and you’ll see the various techniques. They’re all very similar.

From this point on, the sales copy is going to vary from site to site depending what is being sold. But they all with basically have one thing in common. They’ll ask you a question about a particular situation or problem you’re having. After you answer the question by nodding your head in agreement, the person making the pitch will usually say something like “Well, then you’re in luck. Because I am going to show you how to...” And then he gives the pitch about what the person is going to show you how to do. It’s pretty formula, but it works.

Here is what Ewen writes in this particular sales intro.

Dear Friend,
