Sales Copy| Article #200 : SALES PAGE SALES COPY – PART 5
In this installment of our series on sales page sales copy, we’re going to touch on another very important part of the sales page, the proof.
As I said in the previous article, people become very skeptical when they’ve been burned a few times. If you’re going to tell them that they’re going to make money with your program, whatever it is, then you better get ready to prove it.
Looking at Ewen’s site…
EWEN CHIA’S SECRET AFFILIATE WEAPON
If you scroll down to the bottom of his last testimonial, you’ll see a screen print with proof of income that is quite out of this world. You read it right. Over $1 million in commissions earned from selling other people’s products.
Now, coming from somebody like Ewen Chia, I am inclined to believe this. The man has quite a reputation and if he claims he made over a million dollars, you can pretty much believe that he has. Now, if you’re first starting out, it’s best to show income proof that is a little more believable. As a matter of fact, some people don’t show their best income proof because they are afraid that nobody would believe it.
Now hold it. Didn’t you just say that you NEED income proof?
Yes, I did. But you have to be careful with it. If it doesn’t look believable, you’ll end up driving people away from your page. My personal income proof is somewhere in the neighborhood of a couple thousand dollars. For most people just starting out in Internet marketing, that’s a lot of money and a believable amount to attain. You’ll have to use your judgment on how much proof to show.
You’ll also notice that Ewen shows more than one proof of income. You’ll need to do this as well if you can. Again, just make sure that you do it in a believable way.
One thing I want you to notice is that in between the testimonials and the proof, Ewen sprinkles in some carefully selected text. He introduces the testimonials and the proof. He talks a little about himself. Again, all this is going to vary from sales page to sales page. This is where the individual marketer’s personality has to come out, and it will. The key is to be yourself and always focus on the positive. You want your sales copy to keep building and building until you reach the point where you tell your reader that they can get this, whatever it is, for the low, low price of…whatever.
In the next installment of this series, we’ll go over the next part of the sales page where Ewen tells the reader what they’re going to get in this package that he’s selling.
