Because of the growing problem of Internet scams, people are reluctant to spend their money on money making products. This is why income proof and testimonials are so important. In this article, we’re going to cover the latter of these two.

Testimonials are so important to the success of your sales. Having a sales page with a list of testimonials is like gold. But what do you do if you’re just starting out and haven’t made any sales yet in order to get these testimonials? This is the old catch 22 of Internet marketing that drives many people crazy.  Making that first sale may actually be easier than getting that first testimonial, since some people will try things even if those things are brand new. That doesn’t mean you’re going to get them to sing its praises, especially if the product didn’t live up to their expectations. So what do you do?

Well, hopefully, this short list of suggestions will give you a starting point for getting those early testimonials. Then as you get them, they will be a lot easier to get from that point on.

If you’re just starting out and haven’t made any sales yet and want to get testimonials right away, there’s only one way to do this. You’re going to have to bite the bullet and give away X number of your product to the first Y number of people who come to your site.  You need to make it clear on your sales page that the conditions of this offer are that they agree to try it and if they find it of good quality they agree to submit a testimonial to the product.

 

Another thing you can do is contact other marketers in the field. Ask them if they’d like a free copy of whatever it is you’re selling in exchange for a testimonial, if they feel the product itself is good. You don’t want testimonials that are literally paid for. This way, if they have some problems with your product you’ll possibly get some valuable feedback that you can use to make improvements.

Another thing you can do is put up your site and offer a number of bonuses to your customers. This may give buyers an incentive to pick up your offer and in exchange give you a testimonial to your main product.

 

Still one more thing you can do is go to a forum that has a downloads section and offer the members of that forum your product for free in exchange for a testimonial if they like it. Then if you want, in the future, you can remove the download once you decide to start selling it.

These are just a few things you can do to get started. Then, as you start making sales, you can gather testimonials over time. Certainly, if your product is one of quality, you’re going to have people who will complement you on it. If somebody sends you an email, ask them if they can use it as a testimonial.

There is no doubt that testimonials are crucial to having success online in today’s climate. While getting them at first may be a little tricky, the above tips should make getting your first few a little easier.
