Making A Plan | Article #253 :ADVANCED GAME PLAN 1 – PART 2
In our last installment, we decided that we were going to create a new software. We did our research to see if there was a demand for it and we purchased the items we needed in order to create the software. In this installment, we’re going to pick up with getting everything that we need prepared in order to market our new software.
One of the things that you’re going to want to do is build a list of potential buyers even before the software comes out. So you’re going to need an autoresponder service. You want to go with a reputable one that has a high delivery rate and is easy to use. I suggest going with either Aweber or GetResponse.
Once you have the beta version of your software out, go back to the forums and offer a free version of it for people to try it. If you like, you can limit this to 10 or 20 people. Tell them that you’d like to have their feedback on the software within a couple of weeks. If you don’t give them a time frame, they’ll just sit on it and never use it.
While they’re testing the software, you want to work on your sales copy. This will be the sales copy that’s going to go up on your web site when you get one. We haven’t done this yet because we really don’t know if this software is going to fly. If there are major bugs with it or if most people find it unusable, you may need to go back to the drawing board or scrap the idea altogether.
Writing your sales copy is very important. There are things that you will want to include in order to make sure that the copy is complete and does the job that it’s supposed to do.
For starters, you’re going to want to come up with a killer title for your header. This has to grab the reader’s attention right away. You then want to introduce the product and summarize the key points and benefits. Hopefully, by the time the product is ready to launch, you will have some testimonials. This is one of the reasons why you submitted your software to the forums for people to try.
Finally, you want to finish off your sales copy with a call to order. You need to tell people to take action. You can’t assume that they are just going to do it. Sometimes people need to be told what to do. This is where you tell them. Use something like “Get yours TODAY!” or “Order Yours NOW!” Either will do fine.
Oh and of course at the end of the sales letter you want to sign your name and put a little PS to remind them that this order is for a limited time, or whatever it is you want to remind them of.
In our next installment, we’re going to pick up with what we do once the software is out of beta and ready to go.
See you next time.
