In our last installment of social book marking, we covered a few social book marking sites and what their specialties were. In this installment, we’re going to continue our review of these sites and give you some tips on how to make the most of them. Just make sure you stay within their boundaries.

If you’re into programs and want to share them with others, the best site for that is myprogs.net.

If you go to this site, you will find that it is quite involved. There are a number of sections to it and it’s easy to get lost.

For starters, there’s the social list of programs, or the main focus of the site. This is where you share your favorite programs with others. You will find thousands of programs here.

After that, they have what is called a recommendation system. This is where you can find the newest programs that are out there and read people’s reviews and recommendations on these programs.

Then they have what is called their Folksonomy. This is a keyword system where you can define your own keywords to define or describe certain programs. These keywords are all supplied by the users.

Then they have what is called faceted classification. These are predefined keywords and classifications for programs. You will probably recognize a good many of the ones in this list.

One of the most fun parts of MyProgs, is the friend finder. This is where you can find friends on MyProgs that have similar program interests to yours. This way you can exchange ideas directly with other people. This comes in real handy if you need help with a certain program that is giving you fits.

Then you have what is called the virtual community. This is where you can discuss programs with other users. It’s kind of like a forum and there is a lot of activity there.

And if all that’s not enough, you can also add RSS feeds to your site about MyProgs. Java snippets are also available.

The one good thing about this site if you read their TOS, is that there are no limits. This is very important to look for in a social book marking site. The ones with no restrictions are the ones that you are going to get the most out of. The ones that do have restrictions or the ones where the users are like policemen are the ones that you have to be very careful with.
