Networking| Article #310 : NEVER WRESTLE WITH A PIG

The title of this article may seem a little strange to you. I seriously doubt you ever heard somebody say to you, “Never wrestle with a pig” so you wouldn’t know why that were true. Well, I’ll tell you why it’s true. The reason you never want to wrestle with a pig is because you’ll both get dirty and the pig likes it.

What has this got to do with network marketing? Pretty much everything, and if you’ll just hang in there and bare with me, I promise that when you are done reading this article, you will know exactly what I am talking about.

No offense to people in Internet marketing and MLM programs, but the majority of the heavy hitters are pigs. They play the game dirty and they love it. They don’t care who they have to take advantage of when promoting their business. They’ll exploit anyone and everyone. Their only concern is the bottom line and the rest be damned.

The person who wants to be under this heavy hitter is prime meat for the pig. This person will do anything and say anything to get into the heavy hitter’s good graces. When it comes to promoting the business, they’ll do whatever they can to please their “guru” on high. In the meantime, the poor soul is basically getting crumbs while the heavy hitter is racking in all the profits from the hundreds of people he has under him. He couldn’t care less that maybe 5% of the people under him are making any money. All their efforts have paid for his new Lexus.

Does this mean that you shouldn’t join an MLM company under a heavy hitter? Not at all. What it means is that you should be your own person. YOU become your own heavy hitter. Learn as much about the business as you can. Pick his brain if you have to. Then take that knowledge to build your own business, NOT his. And if he should not be willing to share his knowledge with you, then move on. Don’t let him feed you the scraps off his table while he’s eating prime rib.

The most important thing you need to learn from this is that the person who recruited you wants nothing more from you than his monthly fee that he gets from you and for you to bring him as many other marketers to wrestle with as possible. If not one of his people was successful with their business, he’d still sleep very well at night.

This article may have sounded cold and hard. Sometimes we have to be told the cold hard truth about those above us. It’s a dog eat dog world and nobody is going to look out for your interests but you.

Remember that the next time you want to wrestle with a pig.
