Networking| Article #312 : NETWORKING LIES – PART 2

In our last installment on networking lies, we went over some of the most insane lies you’ll ever hear in the business. In this installment, we’ll go over a few more lies your mother never told you. Thank goodness, or you’d be scarred for life.

Start With Your Friends And Family – This is the lie that has destroyed more families than gangsters. Think about this seriously. If your family and friends had any interest at all in network marketing, don’t you think they would have asked you about it? I mean they DO know what you do, right? Or are you too ashamed to tell them for fear that they’ll laugh at you? Oh really? Well then what makes you think they won’t?

The truth is, friends and family are the last people you should be approaching. You have to let them approach YOU. The reason for this is because as your friends and family, if they see you doing something that they are interested in they will come to you, believe me they will.

I remember the first time I saw my friend Lenny playing with his Atari 2600. I said, “Oooh, what’s that?” He told me, showed me and the next day I was at the store buying my own Atari 2600.
                      
If your family and friends want anything to do with your business, believe me, they will let you know.

If It’s To Be…It’s Up To Me – This one makes me laugh. Now, while it’s true that if you’re running your own business and selling your own product you really have to do it yourself, if you’re into network marketing, you CAN’T do it yourself. It’s not possible.

Take a building. You’re building a big skyscraper. Well, guess what? If there’s nobody to mix the cement, there’s no skyscraper. If there’s nobody to lay the foundation, there’s no skyscraper. If there’s nobody to put in the windows, there’s no skyscraper. If there’s nobody to put in the plumbing, there’s no skyscraper. If there’s nobody to put in the electrical system, there is no skyscraper.

Building a network marketing business, like building a skyscraper, takes teamwork. No one person can do it alone. Anybody who says to you that he has done it by himself is simply lying to you.

This isn’t to say that you don’t need a great product. You do. But having a great product by itself is not going to make you a millionaire. You need a team of people to help you promote that product as there is only so much promotion you can do on your own, unless of course you’re Donald Trump. And then in that case, you wouldn’t be wasting your time building a network marketing business on the Internet.

The Internet world is full of lies. Some of these lies are hard to spot. Some are downright close to impossible. The reason for this is because the person quoting these lies is so convinced that they’re true that they actually believe the lies. They almost become a self fulfilling prophecy.

Well, it’s time to stop the lies.

At least it’s time to recognize what they are.
