Forums| Article #346 : WAHM – PART 1

The Work At Home Mom or WAHM forum is probably the most popular work at home forum on the Internet. It’s a slightly different atmosphere than the other forums we’ve mentioned so far in this series. The biggest difference is that most, if not all of the people who frequent this forum are work at home moms. If you are a guy and come hanging around here, you are going to get some strange comments. One lady even sent me a private message saying, “What are you doing here, you’re not a mom”. Yes, they can get pretty testy here, but the upside is that this forum is a wealth of information and one of the few places where you can actually post a blatant advertisement, as long as it is in the right section. And, the response you will get from your ads, if they are good, will surprise you. I have made quite a few sales here.

As is true with the other forums, WAHM has different sections. They actually have more sections than any other forum I have seen. Because of this, I am not going to review all of them because if I did, we’d be here a month of Sundays. So instead I will just focus on the main ones that you will want to check out.

WAHM Announcements – This is where the admin posts any important announcements about the forum. These are not posted often (only 27 to date) but when they are posted, trust me, they’re important.

Talk To WAHM – This is where you can post direct questions to the administrator and moderators of this forum. This is something you won’t find at any other forum, so take advantage of it.

Business Advice – This is where you can find some excellent advice on running a home based business. This section is more instructional than most of the other sections.

Telecommuting Moms – This is where you can find posts about job leads for moms who telecommute. This is an excellent section and you should check it out regularly as new leads are added all the time.

Advertise Your Business – This is probably the busiest section of the whole forum. The ads disappear so fast from the front page of this section it’s a wonder that anybody sees them, but they do. With an Alexa rank of about 6,000, many people pass through this section. Just don’t post any scams because they will be removed immediately. Also, you can only post 1 ad per page. You must wait for your ad to fall off the page before you can post another one. If the admin or moderators find more than one of your ads on a page, they will remove the last ones posted.
