Forums| Article #349 : WAHM – PART 4
In this final installment of our discussion on the WAHM forum, we’re going to go over just a few more things and give you some suggestions on how to make the most out of this forum if you intend to spend a lot of time here. Because of the amount of information here, it is easy to get lost and waste hours on end here and get very little done. Hopefully, this installment will keep that from happening.
The first thing you should do when you go to the WAHM forum is go to the section where you can post actual ads. Do this first if you have a business to advertise. Your ad will last on the front page for about one hour. So come back every hour and repost. It will only take about a minute to do this.
The rest of your time should be split between the various sections that apply to the kind of work that you’re doing. I know it’s easy to scan the Ameriplan section to see what’s going on there, but if your business is not Ameriplan and you have no real desire to start with the company, especially if you’re already promoting a business, then stay away from it. It’s only time wasted.
Even though the announcements are not posted often, check them at least once a day. When Cheryl or somebody else posts something, I assure you that it is important.
You might not think about doing this, but you know the section that says Meet Other WAHMs? Go there. Network with people. This is how you make yourself known. As you develop a reputation there, people will begin to trust your ideas and listen to them. This is how you build your business.
If you’re interested in working from home and doing actual telecommuting, then read the telecommuting section. You have a very good chance of finding a real work at home job here. WAHM is probably one of the best sites on the Internet for finding true work at home jobs. Take advantage of this.
If you have something to sell or trade, go to the exchange section. You will find a lot of incredible deals here, but you have to have something to trade or be willing to spend some money. The quality of some of the items is quite good.
Just a word of warning about this forum. These are mostly moms and they develop relationships with each other very fast. If you’re a new comer, work your way into this forum slowly. Like the Warrior Forum, the gals here are a protective bunch. If they think you’ve come around to cause trouble or scam people, you are going to be in for a rude awakening. Some of these gals can get very vicious.
One last thing about going to the ads section. You will find that a lot of the posts seem to have an unbelievable number of views, which would make you think that the opportunity for the post is a great one. Sadly, this isn’t the case and the only thing about the WAHM forum I don’t like. It is a common practice for the posters to pump up their views by reloading the ad page many times. So take the views that you see there with a grain of salt.
I hope this series on forums has given you some valuable information to make your forum experience a prosperous one.
