Resale Rights & PLR| Article # 44 : RESALE RIGHTS – MASTER RESALE RIGHTS

Moving on to Master Resale Rights, or what are commonly referred to as MRR, this is where things get a little murky as far as exactly what you can do with these rights. Everybody has their own idea of what MRR is and unless each right is specifically pointed out when you buy or sell the package, people are likely to get confused. So the first thing we need to do is define each right that comes with a resale rights package that isn't a simple resale rights package.

Most people, when they offer a resale rights package where they are giving you rights, other than to just resell the package, will usually spell out each right in the package with a little chart. Please understand that not everybody does this and the rights you get will vary from package to package. This is why this is such a gray area that confuses a lot of people. So the best way to illustrate this is with an example.

Here's a PLR package that was offered recently for a bible collection.

These were the rights.

[Yes] Includes Sales Page.
[Yes] Can be given away.
[Yes] Can be packaged.
[Yes] Can be offered as a bonus.
[Yes] Can Be Edited Completely and Your Name Put on it.
[Yes] Can be used as web content
[Yes] Can be broken down into more articles
[Yes] Can be added to paid membership sites
[Yes] Can be offered through auction sites.
[Yes] Can Sell Resell Rights
[Yes] Can sell Master Resale Rights
[Yes] Can sell Private Label Rights

Now, this list is by no means all inclusive of all the rights that can be given to a particular package. However, for the purpose of Master Resale Rights, let's point out what you can't do as far as the above list with MRR.

See that line that says Can Sell Private Label Rights? That you will NEVER see with an MRR package. The reason is because one of the primary things about an MRR package is that you can't change the content. They may give you the right to sell it, add things to it, repackage it with other items and even give other people MRR rights, but if you change even just one word in the product, given it's some kind of ebook or article, you will be in violation of the rights. This is the one big difference between MRR and PLR.

The good thing about MRR packages is that you really don't have to do too much. Usually you'll get a sales page to go along with it. In most MRR packages, you're not allowed to change that sales page but must put it up exactly as it is. Then, when you make a sale, you simply pass that sales page along to the person who you sold it to and this goes on and on.

The bad thing about MRR packages is that because you really can't change them, over time, the number of these same sales pages begins to flood the Internet. Eventually, the market gets pretty saturated, though true saturation never really occurs because of new people coming in all the time. Still, it gets harder to sell these MRR packages as time goes on. That's why so many new ones keep coming out all the time.

Truth is, Master Resale Rights are just a small step up from basic resale rights. Sure, you can change the price, which you can't do with basic rights, but there's not a whole lot of difference when you come down to it. It isn't until we get to Private Label Rights, which will be the next article in this series, where we really get to rights that are truly flexible and very powerful.
