Sales Pitching| Article #55 : THE SALES PITCH - BLOGS

Blogs have become quite popular over the last couple of year. There is no question about it. People are using blogs to promote many products, as well as still for the more common use of just jotting down their everyday random thoughts.
The problem is, most people don’t know how to effectively use blogs for advertising. Many succumb to the temptation of just putting up a little blurb that reads something like this.
“Hey. Just found this really cool program. You gotta check it out.”
“Here’s the URL”

“Have a nice day”
Or something like that. I’m sure you’ve seen these kind of blog posts all the time. If anybody who makes such posts really thinks that these are going to bring them any kind of sales at all, they are sadly mistaken. And the really sad part is that with the increasing popularity of blogs, this is an opportunity for the blogger to really grab a hold of his audience. A well written blog can bring a great number of visitors to any affiliate program or product.
Rather than try to explain to you how to write a blog post that will actually get people to your site, I’m going to give you an example.
What we are going to do is write a fictional review of a fictional product so you can see just how powerful blogs can be if used correctly. Yes, writing reviews of products is the best way to get people to actually check them out. But they have to be done cleverly otherwise they will just appear to be an ad in disguise.
The product we are going to review is called The XYX Factor. It is an Internet marketing how-to book.
Watch how I handle this.
Hi:
By now you’ve all heard about the new book “The XYZ Factor” unless you’ve been living on a rock. There certainly has been a lot of hype about this book. I can’t say it’s all hype, but I was certainly expecting more than what I got with all the hoopla.
In all fairness to this product, I have been marketing for a long time, so it takes a lot to impress me. Maybe new marketers will find quite a bit in this book to be eye opening. Most of it, at least for me, was just a rehash of “The Affiliate Superpack”, which I must say was a great book. But did we need more of it?
Okay, yes, there were some additions to this package. Actually some very good additions.
Here they are.
- Targeted Extraction Techniques – The author goes into a rather long explanation of exactly what this is. I don’t quite understand it all, yet, but from what I have read, this is some powerful stuff if you have the stomach for it. It’s kind of black hat. At least in my opinion.
- Pinpoint Precision Principal – This is another of the author’s own creations. This I actually did understand and used and it does work extremely well. I am surprised nobody came up with this idea before.
- Spying The Competition – We’ve all seen these type of things before. But this author came up with a slant that I would have never dreamed of in a hundred years. I’m just glad this guy isn’t a government spy, or we’re all in trouble.
And there are a few more decent things in the book. But like I said, a lot of it was in “The Affiliate Superpack” which was a very good book. If you really feel you need the extra info (the new book is about 30 pages longer at 97 pages) then you probably want to get this version. Otherwise. Get the superpack and save yourself about $20.
If you’re interested in checking out this new book, here’s the URL

And there you have it.
Did you notice something very important about this review? I hope so. Because it was the most important thing about the review. It wasn’t one sided. It gave some good and bad points of the product, even if the bad points were that some of the info was in another book that was great. This way, you give the appearance of this being an unbiased review, even though what you are ultimately trying to do is make a sale.
Naturally, to do a review like this, you better have purchased the product, or your credibility is going to take a terrible beating. Certainly whatever product you’re reviewing you have to be able to see the good and bad in it. Even if the bad is a minor flaw, point it out. It will give your review the credibility it needs to push it over the top and actually generate some sales for you.
