Affiliate Programs| Article #99 :AFFILIATE PROGRAMS – PART 2

In this installment of affiliate programs, we're going to discuss finding one that's just right for you. Not all affiliate programs are good for all people. Why? There are many reasons, but the main reasons have to do with whether or not the person is good at selling. And while it's true that all affiliate programs require a certain degree of selling, some require more than others and some allow you to make a profit off the efforts of others. We'll cover both these type of programs here.

The affiliate program that truly puts all the burden on the affiliate is the one where the affiliate only makes money off of their own efforts. For example, taking Sharesale.com, a company I mentioned in the first part of this series, an affiliate only gets paid for each sale of a company product. Even if they were to refer other people to the company they would make no money off of their sales, only off of the products that their referrals bought. So to be successful with a company like Sharesale, you have to be a very good sales person. If you're not, then you might want to look into an affiliate program where you get help from others.

That brings is to the other kind of affiliate program, the one where you DO get some assistance from the efforts of others. Again, looking at a program discussed in the first article in this series, Success University is a perfect example of just that kind of program. Yes, you do have to do some of the work yourself to be paid by the company. But that work is relatively minimal. Their requirements are simple. You have to bring in 2 people your first month and 1 person each month after that. If you can do just that much then you have the benefit of getting commissions not only from the people that YOUR people bring in but also from the people placed under you by YOUR sponsor. In this way you are getting help from two different directions. For the person who isn't such a great salesman, this is a huge help.

Now, the programs where you get help vary quite a bit. Some of these programs will help you quite a bit from the efforts of others. Then there are programs that give you very little help at all. The reason for this is because each site's commission structure is different. We'll cover commission structures in a later article. If you're looking for the most help possible, then you want to look for a company that pays most of its commissions to the lower levels in your organization. If you're a little bit better of a salesman then you might want to look for a commission structure that either pays more at the top or distributes the commissions more evenly. This is a science all by itself.

The bottom line is this. By looking at the structure of an affiliate program and by then looking at your own strengths or weaknesses, you can determine what the best affiliate program is for you.
