"...In this third installment of "Why People Buy Things" we're going to go over reason number eight, which is emotional satisfaction.

While that is true to some extent, as there are some things we do need to survive, the truth is, people really buy things more because they think those things will make their life better. Sure, we all need food to survive, but people just don't buy any food in the stores. They buy foods that they like. "...In this installment of "Why People Buy Things" we're going to focus on the 2nd biggest reason why people make a purchase.

Life is hard. Anybody who says otherwise hasn't lived yet. We work difficult jobs, usually from 9 to 5, sometimes longer, have children to take care of, as we get older we then have to care for our parents, we have to deal with the problems of the outside world when it invades our lives, and I can go on and on. At the end of the day, we take a look in the mirror and sometimes we realize that we've probably spent more time frowning that day than we did smiling. And then we start to feel really bad. But suddenly we think to ourselves, the new ice cream parlor just opened up down the street and they've got these really wild flavors of ice cream.
